Very nice! I'm all over that set-up! How often do you drive it and is it reliable? Need a battery-tender on it often? Thanks in advance!
It's my track car so it doesn't get driven that often and during the winter may only get started every couple of weeks. So far it's always been totally reliable. I've never had a Tender on it before, but I just bought one to try this winter.

THE STOCK SEATS ARE LIGHTWEIGHT!
I replaced my stock seats with a set of carvaggio race seats and this is what I got.
Stock seats without the base weigh 20lbs!!!
Caravaggio seats without the base 18.5lbs
The cheap and easy way to reduce seat weight, is to ditch the drivers side power seat assembly...
I think with some good investigating you can get the car under 3000lbs with relatively low costs. I would start with a good set of LT headers & x-pipe, battery, removal of the power seat assembly.
From what Ive seen the stock front wheels = 19.2lbs, rear = 21 which is damm light..
I must say, GM did one hell of a job with this car, when I saw that the seats weighed 20lbs I was shocked..
I get a kick out of people who love their Z06 performance, but continue to add more and more weight to their car with larger tires/wheels/sound systems/googaws & widgets...

Yep, I put in Corbeaus and wish I had kept the stockers and simply switched out the driver's bracket for a manual one after I pulled them out.....
It's quite simple... there is no easy weight reduction to be had while still keeping the car a nice street car. GM did a great job keeping weight to a minimum as it was a top priority with the car.
*The seats are very light
*The wheels/tires are some of the lightest you can get
*There is very little sound deadening
Etc.
FWIW I'm going the other way now that my car is a waxer again... I'm doing a full eDead insulation and ensolite foam over that to quiet things down. It'll add around 60lbs to the car total, but it will be much quieter inside until I hit the loud pedal.
I'll leave the loud/light BS for the Panoz track car.
I don't race my car, but I'm always thinking about at least maintaining the same weight as oem...the car, not me

Thats the beauty of it. it has enough performance that you can add those goodies. Its a car and unless its a dedicated track car, then why obsess over petty wieght reduction or how much weight this is going to add. Its not like your pouring concrete into your trunk. Usually with the added weight, there is added benefit and/or comfort.
Don't know if I agree with you here, you can easily have it streetable & lighter. "Easier" is up for debate Even starting with z06 & stock weight of 3020 with no gas....
With the above you can have a z06 thats in the ballpark of 2850 lbs thats very streetable.
