If you need a Carfax, pay for it like everyone else does. It is against forum policy to make such requests (as I understand it).

As mentioned, the rules prohibit a CARFAX.
You might edit/delete your request to a GM service history request which several members can get for you (during regular work days) or your favorite GM service writer should get for you free.
No sense in giving a moderator indigestion on Thanksgiving...

Since when? I have been a member since this board started and have seen countless requests for this. I also checked the the stickies before posting and failed to notice any prohibited request for a car's background checks.
These days the term "carfax" is almost synonimis with a cars background check.
Thank you for the tip on GM service writers.

"Carfax is used as an example, but, the rule will apply to any similar activity or business."
Upon careful reading of the rules even a request for a service history would be wrong.
