Default Headlight question

Is there any way to aim the headlights on our cars? I know most cars have adjuster screws but I don't see any on the vette. My right low beam is hunting worms right on front of my car so any advice would be appreciated!

Take the black surround off the headlight, and you will see the adjuster rods. They have star shaped heads. Make sure you lube them VERY WELL before you try turning them, and work slow. The metal the rods are made of is very soft and will break easily.

If you have never adjusted them, they may be corroded up and frozen/won't turn. I suggest, with a T-15 torx, taking off the doors(painted covers), taking off black plastic surround covers, and with a 10 mm wrench(gearwrench worx well here), take off three bolts that hold the headlight on. Remove the light, and now you can see the adjusting rods clearly. Now get a can of penatrating lubricant(not KY Jelly ) and spray the threaded rods down and let them soak in. Then use a E10 female torx socket to adjust the rods. Once they are free and move easily, you can reinstall the headlights except the black covers and adjust the headlights. This is the way I should have done this because my rods broke off and now I have to use vice grips This is much harder and my need an experienced mechanic, but it'll save your assemblies in the long run.

Run down to the end of this link. The instructions are for Euro headlights but the method is the same

you must apply wd-40 or something to adjuster rods before attempting to adjust. mine were stuck pretty good. if they seem like they are stuck and not moving don't force. they will break very easily. lube up really good and try moving back and forth a few times.

I just completed this task and it took over a week of soaking the passenger side vertical adjuster before it would move. What a difference adjustment made. The low beams are right on the money but as I think most are the high beams then end up pretty high. I switched the low beam bulbs to Silver Star Ultras which makes a big improvement and I swithed the fogs to the 50 watt bulbs. Not HID but pretty acceptable for most night driving.

Good luck!
