Blower, blower, blower, did I say blower and then when you blow up your 90,000 mile motor no matter what you do a forged short block will be the ticket and then the blower
The most cost effective thing would be to sell your car and get a Z06. I wish I was joking. For the same amount of money that you would have to spend you could sell yours (+the difference), get a Z06, and throw a small nitrous unit on it...viola. Plus your car will be worth that much more. That is the smartest way to do it. The Z06 will already have all the supporting go fast goodies as well. That's my advice to you. As soon as I no longer need an automatic that's what I'm going to do.
ok so if I want to go with the blower setup, but don’t have 10$ at the moment but still will like to slowly start upgrading the car what would be some modifications that I can start doing now.
These mods with my 6 speed put me in the 450-460 range on motor which would be well over 500 on a 100 shot for only 3500$ in parts, now if you can install it all yourself you will save a TON of money
All the bolt-ons and a big shot of spray will do it the cheapest.
Car should run high 10's with some supporting mods like tires and a converter. Getting there is gonna cost some cash though...
I Agree! But a lot of years on those seals, a lot of miles on that bottom end, but on the bright side, there shouldn't be any tight spots in the motor, and as they say (They Run Fastest Right Before They Blow). I'm still not sure who (They) is?

Regardless of mileage, (and 90k isnt that high for LS1's) if the motor is in good shape with good oil pressure i woudnt hesistate to spray it, tuned right its very safe we installed a wet kit 150 shot on a younger guys 2k vette with 140,000 miles and he sprays the **** out of it, and its at 165,000 miles now

What did you run with that package at the track the other day?

Have you upgraded any of your transmission components?

Since you have an a4, You WILL NEED a built transmission, and possible rear.
My tranny went out after a few months of easy driving on run flats, with the stock converter and a nice tranny cooler. Rear end was leaking and showing wear. Upgraded to an RPM A4, 3.42 Rear w/ hardened shaft, VIG converter.
So the estimate of $10k for a blown setup is low, unless you can do ALL the work. $6k Blower, $500 gauges, $500 tune, $4,000 driveline, ??? $$$ for installation if you can't install everything...
If you don't care how you get 500 rwhp, and just want to save as much $$$ as possible, the follow Eurospec's reasoning. But you will need a built auto.
It is much less costly to mod an m6 to 500rwhp. Paying for a great clutch is way less expensive than paying for a built transmission and a converter, and the m6 cars already have 3.42 rears and not pathetic 2.73 gears.
I payed around $3500 in parts for my built transmission, built 3.42 rear, and converter. If I was an m6 the my parts bill would have been $300 for a hardened shaft for the stock 3.42 rear, and ~ $1000 for a top notch clutch, more than $2000 less than needs to be spent for a reliable, well performing a4 drive-line. And that's because I like to play it safe. Some people don't even change the stock clutch at 500rwhp.
