[Z06] Knob question...

I am new to the forum and I'm yet to see this in anyone's car pics...
I am thinking this **** on a C6 shifter is the way to go on my '02 '6.

I power shifted today and stripped my stock ****, so reluctantly (I have my eyes on a Callaway Honker) this'll have to be my first of many investments...
Any feeback? How does it fit and look coupled with the stock boot?
I had one on my E36 M3 and it far surpassed any quality expectations, but I don't really know if I should trust a Euro tuner on an American muscle car. Ya know?
I need to do something soon though, I threw the **** in the trunk and I drove home shifting with the threads...

According to the website, it was "specifically designed for the 1997-2004 Corvette C5." If that's true, then it won't fit on a C6 shifter. You'll have to have the opening hogged out to fit the larger diameter shaft of the C6 shifter. You'll then need to drill and tap a small hole on the rear for a set-screw since the C6 shifter's shaft isn't threaded. I know this because I had a machine shop enlarge the opening on an MGW Pistol Grip shift **** to install on my C6 shifter. As others have said, you should carry something in the car to cover the shifter if you do this - it gets very hot.
Let us know if you decide to do this!
I've threaded two of these C6 Z06 shifters in my C5s. Use a jam nut under the shift **** to lock in place. I doubt you'll see it. I believe there are a lot more 9/16-18 thread shift **** options in the market than the OEM C6.
Just a thought , if you want to keep the intergrity of the C6 shifter arm ( not thread it) just run a 9/16 drill bit into the threaded **** you have. Drill and tap a set screw to the base of the **** to align with the tapped hole in the C6 shifter arm.
