I got my Ti's back yesterday after having them modded! I found a guy here in TX that can weld Titanium and weld like a crazy man !!! Here are some pics of his work! Tomorrow (sunday) new longtubes, 3" X (offroad of course) and the Ti's are going on... there will be video! SCROLL DOWN FOR VIDEO!!!!
VIDEO - I'm going to get more video because i dont think this clip is very accurate. Once everything was put together i realized that i might have more broken spark plug wires than I thought, so its mis-firing and loading up. If it's not one thing, its another.
That looks like a great idea. Can't wait to see the video? Without checking under my coupe, I'm guessing the same mod can be done to the stock pipes? Anyone done this?
What are the added pipes for? The weld job looks like first rate work.
The added pipe makes the best flowing quiet exhaust now the best flowing louder exhaust when you get on it, but still quiet when you're on the highway or not WOT. At WOT, the muffler pressurizes and there is only one place for it (sound) to go... through the bypass.
He did an awesome job! It took him longer to find titanium welding rod than it did for him to do the whole project.

I can't wait to get it on tomorrow! The mod cost me about $150 total.

Absolutely. All you're doing is bypassing the muffler with some sound!
I can't wait to try this on my stock exhaust. I can tell you one thing...my welds will NOT look as nice as that :o Oh well, I'm still learning to weld Can't wait to hear this exhaust
That's very cool.
I would like to ask a related question if anyone knows the answer.
Can you weld new tips on these that are not titanium(IOW stainless)and not have to worry about them falling off?Can Titanium and Stainless bond together w/o issue?
I like the idea a lot,but don't care much for the exhaust tips

Yea, I feel the same way you do! I'm going to try to find out, because i hear stainless and titanium are very similar, or something, who knows... not i. I'm trying to call my welder to find out. I'll update the first post with video and that info when i talk to him.

I have the A&A mod with longtubes, xpipe and hi flow cats. If it stops raining here I might make a vid. Its pretty loud when you get on it especially after adding the headers, but everyone that has heard it loves it.

My factory system has this mod. With headers and an X pipe the sound is very good. A little louder at idle, sings beautifully at WOT and whispers at cruise.

Stainless is similar to welding Titanium. Titanium uses more Argon shielding in the process, and some types need to be welded in special environments (vacuum etc.) IIRC; although take that with a grain of salt since I am not a professional welder.
