Door Ajar error message on dash console
I have a 99 coupe and the door ajar message apears on the console display when the car is running or when the key is in. Also the interior lights remain on and I can't arm the alarm when shutting off the car and exiting. I have pulled the courtesy light fuse so my battery won't go dead when the car is parked.

I think the hatch triggers a light if it isn't fully latched too? You probably already checked that, I can't remember now if it is a separate light or not, but sometimes I don't close the hatch firmly enough and have to redo it. Good luck figuring it out!

This seems like an easy enough fix. Older cars had a button that was depressed as you closed the door. I'm in my boxers and don't feel like going into the cold garage to look at mine but I bet the Vette has the same type of switch/button. Either yours is broke or a wire has come off that switch. Have you checked for something like this? It's an easy fix unless GM has made it complicated.
