The wind noise level varies from car to car. Generally, it's not bad. The usual source is the area around the B-pillar or the adjacent insulation.

There have been TSB's on the subject. One is below, but there are others, iirc, and I'm not sure there was ever a definitive fix, although it was a known issue. Individual installation and tolerances seem to have been involved, and sometimes the assembly plant's solutions were less than elegant.

Since that generation Z is no longer in production, many of its boards are turning into mod boards, so if you want information about the car itself, I'd suggest searching the archives.

I've got an '01 Z with 19k and no wind noise at all. (Now my '05 Burb ... that's a different story.)

Since I've added the padded partition and shoed it with Vredesteins it is a very pleasant, and relatively quiet, driver.

One thing to consider if looking to buy one with bad wind noise is if the door has been repaired or replaced it could be difficult to fit it perfectly. Consider the possibility.
