This car has been raced or beat up. I would stay away.

Why buy a car with a "questionable history". If there is any doubt at all....and there is, that's why you made the post on the forum, then forget it and walk away.

Take your time and look for a nice low mileage example from a private party where you can check the history.

All good advice. But, with so many good C5s for sale out there, keep looking and find one with no "stories" for the same or less $. Happy hunting!

Only problem with Private Party on an older car is that the bank wants to almost double the interest rate when financing. I mainly have to go through wholesale Corvette dealers if I want to get a 5-6% interest rate or something. At the rate things are going the new Camaro will be on the streets before I find a used Corvette and I'll have more options and more money to buy something cash, thanks for the help though guys.

HI There,
Sounds like this car was used as a racer and then later wrecked, thus new suspension parts.Avoid it!

I agree the price is too high !
I bought my '04 with 30K miles for $27K, and, it was a GMAC lease, and immaculate.
My engine makes NO NOISE cold, shifts perfect, and the body was never touched, scratched, or defiled. Whatever you foul up during the lease comes out of your hide at the leases end. It isn't smart financially to beat a lease car.
