Default Check engine after Header install

I know that I should probably get home first and check the code, but I installed some headers about a week ago and all went well, for the most part. Today, my wife drive the Z and after like 20 minutes of driving she told me the "check engine light" came on. She said that there wasn't any noticeable differences in driving behavior and it went when she got on it, my question is, what are some possible reasons. I would expect it at start up, possible the cats, but not after 20 minutes of Interstate driving.

Any advice???

You need to have the rear O2 sensors tuned out. They are there to double check that the cats are doing their job and do not affect engine management, the fronts do that.

The aftermarket cats (or lack thereof) are flowing more and the sensor is getting different readings than it's used to and throws the code. It'll come back every few weeks until you get tuned.

You can clear the code with the DIC but if you have to get inspected and your state uses the OBD-II plug in the systems will come back as "not ready" and they won't be able to test you.

Is that a problem passing VA emissions?

^ Yes, on any car, if you go in and the systems come back as "not ready" then can't test your car. You have to complete a certain number of drive cycles for the systems to show "ready". Do a forum search for "not ready codes" for more info.
