Simply put....

TC on keeps you from spinning the wheels very much and will keep you from getting sideways.

TC off will let you do what ever...

Competitive Mode will let you wheel spin but still keep you from getting sideways. Great for drag racing.

Competitive Driving Mode will take off your traction control but keep your Active Handling on.

When you simply shut down the the TC you have nothing. No AH no TC your on your own.

Be sure you know how to handle this car if you take the TC off !!! You can get in trouble in a hurry...As you know these cars are fast real fast.. Competitive mode is the way to go....

Comp mode will also allow the car to yaw further in turns before it takes over

In the competition mode are you able to slide sideways, sorta like drifting a little and still ride with it before the AH ingages?

I daily drive using AH. I have only seen it kick in 2, maybe 3 times. It allows me to side slip my normal "under control" amount (I don't "drift") without interfering but when I take emergency corrective action (cutting the throttle and steering into the skid) it helps me recover faster than without it. Slows you down a lot in the process.

My emergency reflexes have already been implimented before it "assists". AH is a very smart system. It seems to be proportional in strength and length of application to what is required. It has not kicked in when I didn't want it to.

When the car oversteers, the system is less intrusive since T/C is off. I'll notice the dashlight coming on, yet not have that same "shutdown feeling" you get when T/C is on.

Anyway, to answer your question, I'm not sure about drifting, but during oversteer with the nose of the car still planted, yes.

Just to clarify things, I wasn't trying to say that I wanted to or have been doing drifting, just maybe an occassional turning a corner and letting the rear end slide while accelerating to much and making the turn in a "in control" manner while sliding, in competition mode. Thanks for the responses.
