Can anybody tell me if there is a way to keep the power antenna down when I have the CD player on? As far as I can see the antenna goes up as soon as the power is turned on. It would be nice if I could decide when I want it up or down.
Go to the main menu page and scroll down to the Audio/electronics forum. I know this has been asked before, so you can also search this forum (in the red banner) in C5 Tech.
Some have suggested adding a toggle switch inline to keep power off to the antenna while you listen to Cds. Someone gave detailed input about the modification in one of those past discussions.
I did mine about 3 mo. ago. Just installed a toggle switch in the pasenger side foot well on the side. The hard part was finding the right wire to cut in the group of wires that run along the passenger side. Mark
The auto aerial wire is blue. When the unit is turned on it applies 12v to the antenna motor and up it goes. Easiest way to find it is to pull the HU and look for it behind the unit.
Cut the wire and put in an online switch with enough wire to run to wherever you decide to mount it.
T-Dog , you can get your answers in the audio section on how to install the toggle switch..... I haven't installed the switch yet but I did disable it by removing the panel in the trunk on the right hand side and then you can access the motor .... I just unplugged it .... I still get a great reception on FM with it down...... when you do decide to install the switch , I believe you just cut the pink wire and loop the toggle switch....... I hope this helps
