CAD (computer aided design, sometimes called computer aided drawing) and photoshop are two completely different types of programs. With CAD you start with a blank page and using the mouse you draw something (more commonly used in engineering). Photoshop is a program for manipulating already created images. The very sharp looking image that HMannini has posted looks more like something photoshop can do, but maybe newer CAD programs allow you to do this also.

Thank you. Photoshop is PRIMARILY for enhancing/manipulating already created images, although I have managed through painstaking effort to create FROM Photoshop. Its not easy.
But, thank you for clarifying. You answered my question. I would be interested in somehow obtaining a basic CAD program. I am also curious if the new 9.0 has some of the CAD capabilities?
I am also wondering if your last sentence was a typo? "but maybe newerPS programs allow you to do this also" ??? I will research.

No, it wasn't a typo, what I meant was, with CAD your lines are hard and sharp, but maybe with the newer programs you are able to soften the lines to get the effect that the image HMannini has shown. Photoshop does contain some CAD properties to what extent I couldn't tell you I'm a novice at Photoshop. I have used both programs, I'm not very good with either, and a have no formal training in either. But from my limited experience as I said earlier it looks more like a photoshop or similar type program than a CAD program. But what ever it is, I like it.

Thank you for clarifying. I was hoping you wouldnt take offense thinking I may have worded it wrong. I would love to see some of your work. People that say they are novices are usually pretty good. They are just admitting that they are still learning. Once they think they have stopped learning and know it all, a problem arises.
Thank you again. Doing my research.
BTW, I also like the work, but as I previously stated , I did an exact replica of that style with Photoshop. There has to be a noticeable difference somewhere and that is why I wouldnt want to waste my money on another program.
Still researching.
Also, thank you for the compliment legman. I am going to attempt to get the lines smoother on the Vettes. Those big trucks are always first time attempts because I have been drawing them for almost 40 years. The corvette, well, you can see all of the eraser marks.
