Do you leave your car locked or
unlocked in your secured garage. The reason i ask is because i always locked my car even inside my garage and today i went out to garage and found out my car battery was completely dead and i cound not get doors, hood to get a jump or trunk open. I had to brake into my own car. (Had christmas gifts locked in trunk)From now on i think i might keep car unlocked when winter keeps me from driving for long periods of time.

I keep it unlocked in the garage. I think it's safe enough in the garage. I don't know how hard it is to get into a garage but I think the new doors are pretty heavy to lift. How did your battery die?

I keep mine unlocked, but not for the reasons you mention.
If you're going to let your 'Vette sit for days (or weeks) on end, why not invest in a Battery Tender?

I always lock mine in the garage. You'd be surprised how easy it is to get through a garage door.
As to not being able to open the doors, you can use the key to get in, and there's the little wire thingies to open all the orifaces...

I keep mine locked, but the garage/shop is in the back of the house detached. It has access to the alley, but I also keep my keys in the house. How is is that you couldn't get into your own car. Can't you insert the key car's key and unlock the driver's door-lock manually, and there is also release calbes in the truck/hatch of the vette to open the fuel door and the trunk manually, and the hood release is also cable loaded.

Unlocked - both cars.....I haven't quite reached that level of paranoia, but I'm working on it.

Uh, no they can't. Many claims are the result of negligence, such as at-fault accidents. If your policy has a negligence exclusion, you may want to consider switiching to a different company.

An at fault accident can be denied as well if they find out you did it ON PURPOSE. And negligence with theft is MUCH different than an at-fault accident. Without digging through pages of coverage information I couldn't tell you whether I have a negligence clause, but I've heard of many that have it.

I leave it unlocked but I live in the wilds of Lincolnshire. I'd be amazed if a thief could even find my village never mind steal the Vette.
