Does anybody know what a stock 2000 C5 A4 (non Z06) is reported to run? Seach function is turning up nothing. Curious because I found a fun stretch of road that I was going back and forth on.
These are the numbers I've always seen for stock cars(in magazines, etc.)
97-00 auto 2.73 = 5.2
97-00 auto 3.15 = 5.0
97-00 MN6 = 4.8
01-04 auto 2.73 = 5.1
01-04 auto 3.15 = 5.0
01-04 MN6 = 4.7
01 Z06 = 4.4
02-04 Z06 = 4.2
For what its' worth, when my car(04 MN6) was bone stock I recorded times as low as 4.8 and as high as 5.5 on one of those escort G-timers. But I'm not real sure how accurate that thing is?
I gotta go try this Often see these #'s quoted, not disputing.
But I find that I'm hot and cold on the cars acceleration. Whether its a by product of driving the car for a few years (and getting used to the performance) or that fact that its a bone stock (except for blackwing and flowmasters) A4 2.73, I often feel it's not particularly quick. Traction control is off now until I get the module off and send it in to ABSfixer, but even so, compared to the pull it has later in the process, I dont think the standing start is that impressive. Often hard to break the wheels to a great extent. May be the Michelins' that just hook up too well.
But, I gotta tell ya, it dont feel like anywhere near 5 seconds 0-60 (feels a lot quicker). Guess I gotta go see what Im actually doing.
