Default Chrome Roll Bar Hoops

Do those really cool looking Chrome Roll Bar Hoops that go right behind the seats qualify as roll bars to be able to do the road racing in a convertible for the NASA or Panoz events?

Anybody have any links to where you can get a nice looking rollbar that is functional but doesn't deter from your daily driver?

No.

Roll bar must be one continuous loop, side to side, be at least 2" above your helmet, and have two down ward support tubes behind you.

In most cases roll bars in verts would not allow the top to close.

"REAL" roll bars won't allow the vert top to close but chrome hoops will - see my pix included in my sig

Actually, Wolf makes "a real" roll bar to fit the vert and retains function of the top.

Thanks Rick.

I found the 5 point with removable cross bar on the driver side would meet all the requirements, if it were welded in. But then I saw the disclaimer stating I would lose 2 inches of seat room.

Doooohhhhh!

Welded in permanent, ugly, and less functional as a daily driver. My dreams of driving fast legally are fading with this convertible!

That is not a bad thing. I am 6-2 and I sit up close and personal with the steering wheel. Much better control.

Default New Hoops SCCA approved

What about these that claim to be SCCA approved. Could they actually hold up on a roll?

http://www.racefabinc.com/roll_cage_article_2.htm

Are the HPDE events NHRA or SCCA sanctioned?

If parking wasn't such an issue at my place I would be getting a 2nd coupe too.
