Default Paint Project (Pics)

When I bought my car, Chriswtx noticed that the previous owner had put a wing on it. Upon removal, they did poor patch job. Most people never noticed it, but it bother me knowing it was there.

A few months ago, I banged the passenger side door RV mirror into the garage door frame while backing out of the house.

Today, Chriswtx and myself got together to repaint these areas. While measuring the valve clearance for my recent performance upgrade we nicked my painted washer fluid resevoir. I had forgotten about it, but Chris didn't.

Sanding the rear.

The tank area masked off.

Views from the front and the rear.

After painting.

Chris works at a small airport. We heard a chopper and went outside to investigate and found this Huey just hovering a few feet off the ground. It had been broken for two months with a tail rotor problem and they were checking it out.

While the paint dried, we went to lunch. On the way back, we stopped by a new racetrack they are building in San Marcos. There were two Porsche's and a BMW out running on it.

Wet sanding and polishing.

The finished rear. Tomorrow I will wash the car and post some more pics with the new ACS mini spoiler installed!

Nice job! Those little things that the wife says "you really can't tell" just drives you nuts until you fix it.

Some homeless guy who lives at the airport. He was looking for a hand out so we put him to work.

This is the view looking out from the hanger onto the runway. I thought it would be a good place to open it up. So I hit it hard through a couple of gear. Chris told me the speed limit there is 35 mph.

Looks great.

Got a question on the rear cover did you stop in the middle and if so how did you blend or deal with the tape line? Thanks a bunch

I just watched. Chris did about 5 coats on the taped off area. Then he pulled it away and did one light coat to blend it.

I would have normally painted it in the paint booth..But it had an airplane sitting in it.. Would have been a lot less sanding and buffing..
