I am looking to buy a 1999 C5 Corvette but found an issues with the cars milage. I did a carfax report...mileage recorded at last inspection was well OVER the CURRENT odometer reading. Is there a way to fix the odometer to make it closer to the Carfax report?
I wouldn't hold a ton of faith in carfax anyway. They can only go by what was reported to them and it's not always going to be right. My last car was in a bad accident and I found the shop that fixed it, they had reported it since it went through the insurance company and carfax didn't pick it up. The good news is they do uphold their claim that they pay out for mistakes.

It would concern me if there was a huge difference, I would like to know why. When looking at the mileage history report, is there an unhistorical jump in mileage between the last two inspections which would indicate a typo entry?
There are a few individuals in most cities who can change the odometer reading for you. Problem is that you and that person can end up with a $10,000 fine or more.
Thanks everybody for a quick response. Why would changing the cluster change the mileage? I thought the mileage on digital odometers was store in the IPC or ECM.
