Performance Upgrades complete........(pics)
Man, does this car ROCK.here is the run down. I installed a 3.42 for forum member
Say'n Somethin couple of months ago. I liked the improvement so much, I did it to my car but w/ a little improvement to the tranny
So got the car setup on the Kwik lift and pulled the rear facia to have the lower portion done in black

Then removed the trans and rear diff

Took the trans to work in order to modify w/ the help of a fellow tech who is a tranny guru. next few pics might freak some people out
Sorry bout the quality of pictures, its off my phone

So here is what was done to the trans:
More robust reaction shell, capable of 700 hp. You can kinda make out in the pics the difference of the 2.
STOCK

NEW

You can see of the factory collar is thinner and in turn weaker. They either break completely off the drum or get the splines stripped out
Common GM problemFACTORY

NEW

Other improvements, on the 3/4 clutch pack, went from the stock 6clutches and 5 plates, too high perfomance 9 clutches and 8 plates.
Intalled a duel cage foward sprag assembly out of an older 4l60. The new ones are single cage and if the sprags "roll over" and stay flat like that , you lose all foward gears.
And finally a shift kit
I already had a stall in there, so that stayed the same.
Got it back in and running

I'll get pics of the rear once I get the Z06 scopes on and the weather is better
Overall, on the tranny and diff, SOTP feel is incredible. Even w/ the SC, on the highway it lacked jump. Not anymore. Its a whole new car. If you leave from a stop and feather the throttle to keep from spinning, run through first gear and when it hits 2nd
, it doesnt "chirp" it lights the tiresEven WOT from 3rd to 4th jerks your head into the seat
There was nothing wrong w/ the trans, I just did the improvements since I was there. Anyone who would like similair mods or a beefer trans, PM me.
I have no problems getting the trans out on the weekend, take it to work, rebuild or improve it and back in the car and running the next weekend.
And who said that A4 Vettes are lame
