Wow Garrett, where have you been? There are so many HID threads describing this in detail that some of them have been locked. This one will be locked soon too because of all the references to eBay, which is a no no because there is a supporting vendor (DJ Motorsport Accessories) who sells the HID kits which will do what you're wanting to do.
Here's a picture during the installation of my HID's. They are the 6000K (just a tinge of blue and very bright). The passenger side is a HID, the drivers side is stock. Notice the difference in color and brightness. You'll kick yourself for not doing this sooner.
Takes about an hour to do the install if you know what you're doing.
Yea ive been in italy for 2 years so i havnt been on the forum in a while. thanks for the advice though ill check out that site.
Most people only do the low beams, rarely do I use the highs (especially with HID's) so it would be a waste IMO. Unless you really want to then that's up to you.
Do most people buy both? or do they come together or what? do people get 6000k for both iuf the want 6000k?
If you want the brightest light, the 4300k bulbs are technically the brightest. The only problem with the 4300K bulb is they have a yellow tinge to them just like your stock lights do. The 6000K bulbs are extremely white also, but with with a tinge of blue. If you go higher that 6000K, you start loosing brightness and everything above 6000K has a really distinctive blue color to them. As far as I'm concerned, anything above 6000K is a waste of money if your goal is to get the best lighting possible, and anything below 4300k is just a nasty yellow light; just like your stock bulbs are now.
Most people buy 6000K for their low beams and for their fog lights (if they have fogs). Upgrading your high beams is a waste of money because you don't use them that often, and the 6000K low beams will probably eliminate your need for high beams anyway.

Man, I'm scared to do any upgrades to that engine! I did an upgrade to my El Camino engine and now, $20,000 later, I'm still blowing up stuff. Yea, it's a beast to drive but I'm tired of upgrading stuff to handle the stuff I upgraded. It's a headless beast!

Did all that make sense?

as you can see, anything above 6000k gets WAY too blue.
of course if you want the full "arrest me" look, you can always go with 12000k all around.

If you have fog lights, you'll either replace them or turn them off for good, especially when you see how yellow the look when compared to your low beam HID's. They won't match or look good at all. Remember, you're only replacing the bulb, not the whole assembly (unless you buy something like the ACA kit).
Look at this Vette with both the lows and fogs changed over to HID's. See how the fogs look?

Now look at the fogs before he changed them.
See the difference? Yuk!
Ooooo alright. Got it! So ive ben browsing eBay... Why are some $300 and some are 80 dollars? How do i know which one to choose that isnt junk? Any advice of brand?
IMO most of the "kits" are all pretty much the same.
I got the least expensive I could find, and would consider them disposable just like the OEM bulbs.
