Default Lug nut cover question

Just bought my first Vette in November...97 coupe. Hated to part with my Z28, but once I test drove a C5 there was no going back! Already bought and sold several parts from the forum, and have been having a blast modding the car...met several great forum members already.

Here's my problem. I recently purchased a set of 02 Vette rims...the thin-spoke metallic gray ones (painted). When I went to the local tire place and had my stock wagon wheels removed and these rims put on, they had to use the factory lugnuts that came with the wagon wheels, which of course look like total crap since there is no center cover over them now.

My question is this....are there black lug nut covers available that I can fit over the existing lug nuts, or do I need to buy a new set of black lug nuts? Or would I be better off just buying a new set of the lug nuts because the covers suck? Also, where do I get either the covers or a new set of lug nuts????? Did a search but couldn't seem to find this info.

Thanks!

Mike

Mike

I lost one of the cheap plastic covers off mine a while back. The only place I could find them was at the stealership who charged a rediculous price for it. As far as I remember, they only had silver or chrome caps. I also priced replacing my silver ones with chrome ones because I have the polished thin spokes on mine. The price was more than $200. A couple of weeks later I replaced the lug nuts with high quality chrome ones for about $60 including wheel locks.

Hope this helps.

I think you're wanting something like these on Ebay...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CAMAR...spagenameZWDVW

But you need to have the "double threaded" inside/outside lug nuts to attach these lug nut covers.

Aftermarket available in black & chrome, my 2000 thin spokes have the grey plastic covers.

Are these what your looking for? I have a full set I'll sell you for $10 + $4 shipping. I also have the lug nuts but they will cost extra and more to ship. PayPal only

Personal I would look on ebay for Stainless Capped lug nuts. I think the chrome ones would look funny with the painted wheels. They would stick out to much. I think there 12 mm X 1.5 mm pitch. correct me if I'm wrong guys. I put the stainless capped one on my Pontiac with painted wheels. That's why I have these. I lost one and it cost $3.50 for the black cap from the dealer to replace

I had the exact same dilemna as you do a few months ago when I replaced my wagon wheels with silver thin spokes. After looking at the prices they wanted for the cheap plastic caps, I decided to buy a set of Gorilla chrome lugs nuts. Great decision as they look awesome and I don't have to worry about the plastic ones falling off or breaking. I think it was under $40 for the set
