I emailed a parts request the beginning of this week...NO REPLY.
I call this morning, leave message....NO REPLY.
I call this afternoon, tell receptionist I left message and would like to know if he's truly in. She puts me thru to him, and what do I get....ATTITUDE.
The guy could've been out???, whatever......I was about to go over what I needed, then just said, "Sorry for bothering you." and hung up.
It's not even about whether this was critical....but, I did really want to order the Buick OPS for my relocate....other stuff was just some miscellaneous fasteners.
From what I've heard, I would've never expected his ATTITUDE.
If you need something from him, GOOD LUCK. Don't rely on email and if you call and he doesnt' get back to you....DON't CALL HIM AGAIN. Maybe just maybe, he'll get back to you.
Hmmm, I've been swapping emails with Gene all morning. I don't think he's sitting in front of his computer just waiting for me to send a message or anything, but his response time and willingness to solve a problem were acceptable.

Can't believe it. Gene is always Johnny on the spot to get anyone a VIN run down and he doesn't make any money from his time doing it ya know. This thread is going to get big quick.
I have dealt with Gene on several occasions with nothing but good service, that being said everyone is human, everyone has one of those days. It dont matter who you are or what you do someone somewhere is going to not be happy with you eventually. Give him a chance
I hate when threads about supporting vendors turn into a bash-fest. It is totally counter-productive. As E-T stated, it's these people (supporting vendors) that make it possible for all of us to use the bandwith and site for free.
My dealings with Gene have always been pleasant too. He is excellent at keeping his customers posted on status of parts ordered, and his prices are fair.
I have no complaints.
I do have a recommendation, though. If you are unhappy - tell Gene. Send him a PM and allow the man to defend himself.
I don't think it's been a bashfest so far and I also think if you think you are not treated fairly by a vendor you are doing us a favor by posting. If Gene wants to tell his side of the story he will as he has in the past.
Like the title said, why was it removed? I've watched people beat the crap out of Eckler's, Mid America, GMPartsdirect and a few other venders for days on end, and the thread never got locked or deleted. I would like to see a little consistency on here. I think Gene is a great guy also, but let’s not show him favoritism because everybody likes him. I don’t see the same compassion for people like Eckler’s who never visit the forum. Have a great day.

BTW, I don't see anything unprofessional about it. I think it's a pretty valid question.
I was following the thread, a couple guys had issues and others had good things to say....now I'll never know guess I'll just steer clear of him and his business......
