M.A.-Mod's Anonymous-Differential
I did a search on past posts on this subject and really didn't get an answer. I have posted this in tech and I'm not sure what forum it should be in. Based on those threads I checked my codes in the glove box and found that I have 2:73's (thought I had 3:15). This is an 04 C5 coupe.
I had posted an earlier thread about having some extra cash and asked what should I spend the $'s on in your opinion and I got a lot of great advise. It came down between a cam or changing the gear ratio. I was just about ready to go for the deal on the cam when I checked the gearing and thought maybe I need to do the gears first for best bang for the buck.
Question is; am I on the right track here? And if so where should I go? 3:42 or 3:73? This car is a "3rd" car and I don't plan on very long trips with her. I also plan on a tune after this (I understand that I HAVE to do this with a gear swap).
I'm sitting here in my office with my Dynatech Supermaxx system sitting on the floor along with the Corsa system and the Vararam that all gets installed next week. Wife wants to know if I plan on having sex with mod's on the floor and I said that I hadn't thought about that but I like the way you think!!
Also she wants to know if there is such as a thing as "MA" - Mod's Anonymous that is a 12 step program?

I went from the 2.73 gear ratio to the 3.42's and I am very satisfied with them. A friend of mine went to the 3.73's from 3.15 and he likes those. When my car shifts from first to second gear with the 3.42's my tires spin and the rear end goes squirrley. You better be holding on to the steering wheel. I love the difference!!!
