Default used c6 prices

Im in the market for a used c5, possibly z06 model. However, Ive been looking over 2005 c6 cars as well. I am curious as to why the asking price is so ridiculous. Tell me if Im wrong, but Ive heard of people walking out the door with c6's under 40k or right at it. Why are all the 2005 c5's, which are 3 going on 4 years old with some miles listing for 34-38k? I know corvettes generally hold their value well, but this seems a bit high to me. I know asking price and what you can work out are two different things, but it just seems like such a better deal to go for a new vehicle, even if you do have to pay off a little of it.

The reason a 2005 C5 is selling for so much is because it is very rare.

They didn't make a C5 in 2005....

Sorry, I was being funny, Chevrolet didn't make a C5 in 2005, 2004 was the last year of the C5, 2005 was the first year for the C6.

I dunno, but if I were buying a c6... I'd rather pay 34k for a nice 05 or 06 than just under 40k for an 07. But I would have a hard time turning down an 08 with the right equipment for under 40K.

Either way its 6 grand, and money doesnt grow on trees

While you can get a C6 new for 40, options can drive it a lot higher.
My 04 listed over 58k.
It depends what you want.

Default Corvettes

You can buy a base 2008 right around the $40,000 range. Used 2005's are anywhere from 32-38, depending on how many miles and how they are equipped. Dealers and people with 2006's and 07's are trying to get whatever they can for their Corvettes. If your watching how much you are going to spend either buy a new 08 or shop for a perfect 02-04 C5 Corvette. the deals are out there for the C5's. Plus the C5 is the better Corvette. You gotta shop. Good Luck.George
