When seeking advice, giving a little information about the car is always helpful. What year, transmission, etc. Things change based on the equipment on the car.
Regarding your F45 issue you can either:
A) Have a dealership turn off the F45 using a Tech II (some debate as to whether the '99 can have it simply turned off).
B) Install a shock simulator package which is commercially available and will allow the car to think the F45 shocks are still in place.

C) Go the route of other inventive forum members and via a few components available from Radioshack, install your own simulators.
