[Z06] Possible to replace M6 with M12?
Whether it might be done due to ignorance or just wanting to go cheap on a tranny rebuild/replacement, would it be possible for someone to use an M6 rebuild kit or replacement trans in place of the correct M12?
If it is possible to do, is there any way to tell other than doing the math in regards to RPM, MPH and tire height?
I'd hate like hell to find out after I bought a Z06 that I'm missing part of the "true" Z06 experience with the milder gears of the M6.

Many ppl have taken out the MN12 out the Z and replaced with the MN6
The MN12 will give you better 0-60, however the the MN6 has a better 2 & 3rd gear for general driving
The M12 and MN6 are virtually identical, the gear ratios are about the only difference.
In fact 4th gear is the same in both boxes, so you'll need to try 2nd or 3rd gear as probably the easiest way to calculate which tranny is in the car.
