i see in your original post you say that you've only owned this car for a month or so. i think the original owner (who did the nasty caulking job) may have posted some pics on here before because i know i've seen these headlights in blue before.
also, i'm going to vader your pics so i can post them to the thread in full size instead of thumbnails on post #62.

Why are headlamps for the vettes so expensive? You can buy depo headlamps for any other car and they would be $200 tops!!! The only thing I can come up with is because they simply just dont sell many aftermarket headlamps for the vettes?
I wouldnt put non pop-ups on my C5 but those actually do look pretty good much better than the C5R specter works ones.

Well I don't want to offer the product before we check them out real well, and do the install ourselves. Hopefully I'll have my set this week, then attempt the install over the weekend. So I might be able to put the GP together as soon as next week. But that is wishful thinking. It's all just a matter of what free time I can find.

I got a month or two to make up my mind, as my car is getting an extensive make-over.

Because the SW's and L5's are made in the USA where we actually have employment laws and minimum wage standards and China does not.

Just to chime in on the painting issue. I would suggest that if you opened the unit, use some type of vacuum method to reseal. You can also use an inert gas to displace the "air" inside the unit when closing it up. A vacuum bag clamp would also apply even pressure all the way around the edges when doing the final sealing.
I'm not sure if this is the way to go for me yet, but I wanted to add this for anyone else.

If you don't like the seller's price or can find them cheaper then go elsewhere to buy them........but interfering with the seller's thread will not be tolerated any longer and will result in further actions by the forum for rules violations.
8. Interference in a For Sale thread
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1118176
If you don’t like the price or item being offered in for sale thread, take it to e-mail or PMs. Better still, just move on to a thread that is offering something you like the price on.
If you post a criticism of the price or the quality of the item being offered, you will be in violation of Forum rules and subject to sanctions.
If you post your own for sale items to the for sale thread started by someone else, you also are in violation of Forum rules. Start your own thread, rather than jumping into the thread of someone else.
If your contribution to a for sale thread does not advance the sale, you are in the way.
If you spot inappropriate posts to a for sale thread, please alert a moderator.
I can't make this any clearer.

Just a comment, I hope that post was not aimed at me. Richard is a friend of mine, and he asked for input on whether or not he should offer these units to us. I gave him what I thought was information that would help him make a wise decision. No one is bad mouthing his price, or interfering...like I said, he asked for our input. Please don't confuse input like mine with that of thread crappers and moaners who don't like to pay the going rate. Richard is fully aware of what I have pointed out and appreciates my interest in helping him make a decision.
Any reasonable person could see that is the case. If the comments were not directed at my post, then ignore what was stated here. I've been here 9 years and I do know and I do follow the rules. Let's move on and work out the technical details.

the slits are probably there to keep heat under control but i wonder if they let atmosphere into the lenses.
