C5 Console Redesign
Does anyone know of a mod to change the center console of a C5 to allow a custom fit of one of the newer audio/visual/gps units? I want to add a new system to my Vette, but the 4.5" screen addition is going to cutoff the airflow from the AC/Heat vents at the top.
I don't smoke, nor would I allow anyone to smoke in my Vette, so I would gladly give up this unused 3 plus inches of space to gain that much more room on top - so where is the new console fabrication that does this?
It seems to me that someone somewhere has thought of this and has created a modified console that I can just replace with mine - but as of yet, I have not been able to find it. I looked on Corvetteforum for a post, but could not find one here either.
I see mods to change the finish and color of a console. I see el destructo mods to make a new entertainment system fit, but surely there is someone somewhere that has created a redesigned console that will allow a new entertainment system for the C5 to be installed without losing precious AC/Heat and keep the custom look?
