Vette Art
If you don't mind me asking, how much does it cost for one of your masterpeices?
Okay, since I've been asked more than once, I'll answer the $$$ question here although I've been reluctant to do so. I didn't really want to come on here as a total newbie just to pimp my services...
Anyway, these paintings take around 35 to 40 hours for me to complete. For those who have emailed and asked, yep, the attention to detail is PAINSTAKING. Ask Mark, you can read the Corvette script on his calipers--the sidewall detail is there on the tires, Lincoln's face on the Illinois plate, all the colors on the crossed flags are there, etc.
That said, I simply want to get $20 an hour for my labors. I don't feel that's outrageous--in fact compared to some artists (and automotive shops!) that's cheap. Typically I can turn a painting around in about 2 months... It takes a while because I work a regular job and my art is a sideline.
So, do the math--a 20 x 30" painting that takes me 35 to 40 hours to complete is in the $700 to $800 range. And who knows, as with other artists maybe after I die it will be worth even more!
Okay, if anyone is still interested after this initial "sticker shock", just hit the email and let me know.
Thanks again and take care!
Bruce
No, I'm just messing with you Bruce. This is quality work. Don't skimp on your price. It's a one of a kind present to one's self (great wife by the way to the OP) and you should get top dollar for top dollar work.
From a fellow artist (non practicing), great job.
I've made up my mind to keep painting whether I sell anything or not. I'm kinda stubborn (or maybe stupid?) that way. But definitely can't afford to give my time and talent away either... Hopefully I can get published in Road & Track again. We'll see. Getting published always helps!

This Miata and Jag combination was also published in Miata Magazine, but they couldn't STAND the thought of publishing a Jag there so they cropped it out...

My only suggestion would be as follows:
If you really want to increase the number of views to this thread, you should change the title to "What do you think of my wife's picture?".
Cool, thanks! Let's try this again. Dad's Jag:

And for good measure, my cousin's Chevy II (hey, this IS a Chevy forum, right?):

Honestly it PAINS me to look at my old art. My new stuff is BETTER!

I just snagged some from your website Bruce. Excellent work.
I too, am an artist, but nothing close to your caliber. There are other threads where you can see my work.
