Excellent choice on the clear lens TSX projectors!!! I did a retrofit in my 00 Accord Coupe using the clear lens TSX's. The output is the best I have ever seen! The beam is so wide and evenly spread with a super sharp cutoff. Funny thing is when I drive the vette at night it is absolutely horrible compared to my retrofitted Honda almost just looks like a flashlight aiming in front of the car. lol

Yup, I love em (at least judging from the output on my bedroom wall ). I wanted to get TLs, but now that I've started, I know they definitely wouldnt fit. Then again, I could mount them right in the center, since they are bixenon. Anyways, if I can get my hands on a set to see if they fit, S2ks might come later, but for now, the TSX output vs oem output is sunlight vs moonlight.

Question for the guys that have done this already: If I have the horizontal axis of the projector parallel to the bottom of the housing, will the rotation of the projector be correct, or is the bottom of the housing not parallel to the ground on the C5s?

I lined mine up using the H &V angles on the high beam mount

Can you share where you bought the parts and how much you paid for them?

I found the projectors on the hidplanet.com forums and picked them up locally for about 140 bucks.

Headlight housings to chop up I got in the for sale section here for 60.

Everything else I had laying around.

Passenger side projector is mounted... and hopefully not too far off from being properly aligned.

The following pictures were taken with all lights off in the room.
This is with the brightness on the camera all the way down:

And here it is at normal brightness:

Colormodded.

Great color, still sharp. Looks much better in person, and the band of color will be much thicker once I get this out of my room and somewhere where I can see the output at about 25 feet.

How it's mounted should be pretty self explanatory. Top right isnt attached to anything, to allow it to move freely. Bottom right is fixed in its place and is the axis for all rotation. Bottom left moves back and forward to allow side to side adjustment. Top left pulls the top in or out to adjust how high or low it's aimed.

From the looks of the last pictures, It appears you won't have clearence to have a front lens. If I remember correctly you're using a TSX projector. How do you plan to protect the optics?

TheRadioFlyer: Chances are it won't clear. Cut first, measure second, right? lol. The projector is as far back as it'll go. I'll probably end up shaving off a bit of the body where the headlight housing bolts to the car. This will pull the housing further towards the rear. I'll then have to make a new front lense. Hopefully wont be too difficult....

TheRadioFlyer: angle grinder + chisel + sledge hammer + dremel + anything else very big, heavy, or sharp

jdmvette: yeah, sucks. i'm trying to decide if it's going to be easier to move the housing back, or if when i make the new front cover, to just have it stick out more and follow the curve of the outer edge of the plastic cover.

sledge!? and i thought I had no patience with it.

if you use the cut the front part of the OEM lens off, you can replace it with a 1/4" slab of lexan and you won't have to move the projector. (the OEM lens sticks out about 3/4" further than the bucket trim)

the catch with this is getting the Lexan to stick to the plastic without looking like poop. Thus far my best experience has been with clear plastic epoxey for bonding strength. I used a pharmacy syringe as the applicator to keep overspill to a minimum.

3/4"? wow. mine stuck out less than 1/4". what im thinking of doing is... when i make the shroud to cover the projector, i'll extend it to the bucket trim, and then make a clear piece thats part of the bucket trim.

By the way, rather than worrying about having the headlight completely sealed to avoid condensation, I've just left enough openings for it to be so vented that it wont condensate. Think that'll work?

Less than $200 spent on everything. Beat that, ya plug and play ebay hid kit wanna-be's (just kidding, dont take it personally)
So what advantage over the bulb HID kits do you think you'll achieve by going this route?
