The bidding opened at $25K - I waited....the bidding then jumped to $30K by a guy up on stage right next to me. The bidder's assistant ran over to him, got in his face, along with the camera from Speed, and then the bidder's assistant started yelling at him (have to yell to be heard) "you're in, You're out.....and the guy kept jumping the bid in $5K increments himself and in about 90 seconds elapsed time, the bid was at $49K, and I never said a word. They got the guy to bid it up all by himself. I guess he wanted that car a lot more than me.....
It sure was a nice car, though.
And to answer your other question - it's Ron Pratte. Do a Google search on his name. Believe me - he is NOT what everyone thinks he is....he is a very private and very generous man to charity. I've read all kinds of about him being a stuck up snotty brat - those that think that couldn't be further from the truth. He is a self-made man that likes cars and loves his privacy.
