For those of you that have done the Euro headlight conversion, did you have any problems with the headlights not going down? I installed a set on my mom's 98 vert and found that with the engine off, the headlights will go up, but not down. (the motors dont' even try to turn) However, with the car running, the headlights will go up and down.
I've heard this may have somthing to do with the headlight circuit not getting the correct voltage signal. Since the high wattage headlights require a relay, they're not connected to the OEM headlight terminals. They just tap into the headlight power wire for a signal lead.
no, the problem still exists. But given that the car is not driven that often, it's a quirk that i'm willing to over look. As long as the car is running when the lights are turned off, they'll go down.
I installed mine almost 3 years ago (from PFYC). I had trouble immediately with my right headlight staying up most of the time when I would turn the lights off. I contacted PFYC and they said this was a known issue and sent me some sort of in-line electrical plug that I added in the line up by the right headlight harness. Everything has worked perfect ever since.
They did not charge me for this part at the time. I have the HD Harness with the two relays added.
