Thought I would share with you guys what happened to me earlier this evening. Being the proud owner of a 2001 coupe, I very rarely use it during the winter months. In fact I had only used the vette once since last November. During November myself and my wife visited the states and took in the Moultrie swap meet where I picked up an ecklers catalogue. Whilst in the hotel one evening I flicked through the catalogue and found what I thought would be a nice easy mod for my vette-a third brake light pulsing unit, totally illegal back in the uk, but a good talking point when the summer shows start back up. So earlier this evening I decided to fit the unit, this is where the fun began. In the uk our garages are generally much smaller than the ones that you guys generally have. This means that I have to reverse the vette into my garage and get it as near to the side wall as possible, I then hop over to the passenger seat and get out of that side. So, you might guess what happens next, come to unlock the passenger door with my key fob, you've guessed it, the battery is completely flat. Go to unlock the passenger door--no lock ( are your vettes the same as euro models). Drivers door is literally 1" from side wall. Panic sets in, eventually decide to jack up the rear of the car with trolley jack, lie on the floor and carefully push the vette sidewards to give me enough room to open the drivers door. I then carefully used a long pole with a hook on the end to unclip the door locking clip. Eventually the bonnet release was reached and the battery put on charge. My question is.......was there an easier way.
Holly crap, you go through all that to garage your vette, the crawling across the passanger seat to get out....you were not by chance a C-Section baby were you....man thats dedication or youth, it's 50/50 as to wether I fallout, or rollout when I get out of my vert....
