I agree...the mods should make it mandatory for all newbies. You have to fill out the sig before posting anything.

Seconding (or thirding) that.

One BIG vote for making it mandatory for sellers.

Hi Phat -

You are really talking about the members user profile - not signature.

I agree with you, and on the forum that I co-administer, we have some of those profile fields as mandatory.

In theory that is all goodness, but in practice you get an interesting array of locations etc.

I always try to pm a member that I can tell lives near me - and by the same token I always like to hear from members who notice that they live near me when they see my profile information.

best regards -

this has been covered before but many people would rather not give out specifics about their location, the car they drive or their mods. There are a lot of good reasons why one wouldn't want to share that info, I assume I don't need to spell it out for anyone...

The profile should be filled out before they're allowed to post! That would get it done.

Why does it really matter if they aren't selling? If someone doesn't want to say where they live, it's okay with me, unless I am buying from them, and even then, the profile could be wrong. It is sort of like people who blur their license numbers, seems like no big deal to me either way. I'm out in the boonies, so nobody could probably find me anyway..... Maybe I'll be like the VP and have my address blurred out in the satellite pictures.....

Hi blacksedan87 - if that is your REAL name - I can clearly see from your avy pic that you live near a railroad - and somewhere under the earths sun.

Therefore, I will find out your exact location and come in the night and steal your performance hood seal.

And Larry - We know who you are and we know where you live.....

best regards -
