Default Do headers make a C5 much louder?

I am considering installing headers on my 98 and I'm curious if they will make it a LOT louder or just somewhat louder. I have Corsa Indys w/o an X-pipe at the moment.

I really like the way the car sounds now but I would like the little extra HP you get with headers.

Also, header suggestions welcome!

Headers definately make a difference in sound. It is not TOO much but you can hear the increased volume.

Just installed LG Street long tubes on my car. I already had GHL Magnum catback & Magnaflow x-pipe and I really liked the sound. The headers made a small difference in sound at idle and cruising speed. They really wake up at WOT. I also went with the cats. I think without cats it would be significantly louder.

I have Corsa Indy's with GHL Longtubes, as my wife put it - it's much deeper and a little louder. Cruising around town and running through the gears it is much more bass than the Indy's - at WOT it sounds like NASCAR! At 70mph in 6th, it still sounds pretty much the same, quiet in the cockpit and no drone at all. But downshift down to 3rd and mash the loud pedal - it really barks! I LIKE IT!!!!

That's exactly what I'm looking for. I take some fairly long trips in the C5 in the summer and I don't want to ruin the cruise speed sound.

By the way, did you install yours yourself and if so was it a PITA? I have heard it can be difficult without a lift.

As stated, Headers will increase sound some, if you keep Cats on the car it wont change alot. Removing the Cats completely will make it quite a bit louder.

Yeah u should add headers to your ride. You will notice the sound on acceleration. Use the Cats unless you need more noise

I installed mine without a lift. It is a bit of a PITA. The most time consuming part was installing the new AIR tube on 2000 & older model years.

I think I will stick with the cats. I don't want to enter the "headache zone"

A buddy of mine also chose LG Streets. Who sells them and how much?
