Will a stock 2006 Z06 shifter bolt right in to a 2002 non Z06?

I did not shorten my boot just tucked it under the shifter boot retaining ring to make it shorter.

I just ordered the C6 Z06 shifter from Gene Culley. 2 hours to get the complete shifter kit for $185.
