Default Jack damage on C5

I just bought a 2000 vert with 34000 miles. It is very clean...however I noticed that it has a small 1-1/2" hole in the floor board under the passenger side of the car like a jack was misused. Some of the balsa wood is missing also. To repair this can I place some fiberglass and resin into the hole and cover it with fiberglass or should I bond (with glass) a small piece of stainless to cover the hole to prevent water intrusion? I can also use 3M 5200 to bond this to the stainless piece if the experts feel this would be more appropriate. What would work best and any other ideas would be appreciated. This is my first post so I hope I'm doing this correctly and in the right section. Thanks for any and all help.

Fibreglass should do well. Buddy of mine had the same thing and we did a ribleclass plug. (Rolled up fibreglass soaked in resin. In hole than patched. He hasn't had any trouble with the fix at all.

5200 will work good and may be faster and just as strong.
