How do you go from seeing a Cop on the road, to thinking Truckers hate Corvettes? That is one biggggg jump in rational..

Right now there are so many trucks on the road and there are so many huge safety issues that are killing the trucking industry financially.
Here in Cali, diesel is MORE expensive than my Vette fuel. I suppose the Owner-Operators might talk about fuel costs...
There are many factors in that equation.
Like the other post said, you don't even want to know or hear what the truckers are talking about, if anything. They are mostly monitoring their radios for cops and 'Lot-Lizards'.
The only time the truckers really talk amongst themselves is if they are on a desolate run and they are tired and bored. A majority of the drivers don't even get along that well. At least not here in Cali. Too much of a mix I suppose.
You almost sound paranoid...
I can't even imagine you pullin of the road and sitting and watching up-and-coming traffic...
Don't think they "tell on you" lol sounds like a kid right?
But I think they do enjoy throwing crap your way such as rocks etc.
Funny how some of them seem to ease onto the shoulder when they see you coming.

Here is the scoop from a real Truck Driver. We do not generally hit the shoulder just to through rocks and such on you. WE only do that if 1 you are tailgating and will not take the hint of us tapping on our brakes, or 2 you are trying to pass the "Big Truck" because you do not want to be stuck behind us in road construction. There are a few bad apples like in all jobs, but that does not mean we are all like that. We apprecate a nice car or truck.
Please take in to consideration that we have a job to do just like you do and we try very hard to be nice
We do discuss more on the CB. We talk about anything and everything.
We do not like to be stopped by the cops eighter. Generally we have a lot of trouble when we do get stopped. Our tickets are a whole lot more expensive than a 4 wheelers.
i like to go bout 115 mph past them and my valentine radar detector does fine. i think they only get upset when with my convertible i try to go underneath them or dare my passenger to touch the side of there trailer. that gets them going. LOL
I don't have a CB so I can't absolutely prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that 18 Wheelers hate Vettes. But, every time I jump on the Express way and pass a few of them, it isn't long before I have a Black & White State Trooper sneaking up on me from the rear.
I have tested this hunch on several occasions by setting the cruise at a comfortable 78 or 79, (which is no where near a speeding ticket) and passing every 18 Wheeler I see. Then I will pull off the Interstate at an exit and watch for a few minutes. Without fail, a State Trooper will either be trolling up the Interstate going in my direction a mile or two behind, or trolling down the Interstate going the other direction way a mile or two ahead.
18 wheelers hitting the brakes because of cars tailgating.... Thats rich
I used to think the same thing...then a friend challenged me to actually WATCH and see that a GREAT deal of the time it is the CARS, that pull in right in front of the trucks and then slow down, or expect THEM to back off...The drivers assume if YOU are comfortable with 80,000 lbs of fast moving mass behind you..why should they worry? Remember, if you cannot see their mirrors, they cannot see you! They have a HUGE blind spot compared to you....Also, statistically they are FAR safer as drivers than most drivers...bash truckers all you like, but there is not one single item you have or need daily that they didn't bring to you. Me? I say more power to them, that is a DAMN hard life for the $$ that they get paid, away from their families the time that they are...and the numb-nuts they have to deal with in traffic....I've watched, I've SEEN it is FAR more often the cars than the trucks that are causing the problems! Think about it...if a car darts in front of them and they have to slam on the brakes to miss them, well, yes...you suddenly have a biggg lumbering slow truck slowing everyone down, but it's not their fault.

I never said hitting the brakes,I said tapping the brake. That is just enough to make the brake lights come on. I will warn them twice, then if they are to stupid to get the hint, they are fair game. If you have ever seen a trailer tire blow out at 75 mph, trust me, you don't want to be anywhere close. We have cars screw with us all the time. We are just trying to do our job. No one else wants people screwing with them when they are trying to do their job.
"Ecstasy
Extended use of this amphetamine causes difficulty differentiating reality and fantasy, and causes problems concentrating. Studies have found that ecstasy destroys certain cells in the brain. While the cells may re-connect after discontinued use of the drug, they don't re-connect normally. Like most drugs, this one impairs memory and can cause paranoia, anxiety, and confusion."
Then again, it could be the ecstacy associated from driving your Corvette.
Classic!

They spend 5% of their time looking for "bears" and reporting their locations, and 95% of their time pointing out women driving by, especially if they have a short skirt, skimpy top, etc. "Look at this one coming up in the blue Volvo, blah, blah, blah" They will then go on to explain why every woman driving by them wants to have sex with them and how all women are nymphs. They live in a fantasy land. They act like oversexed teenagers, pretty pathetic actually.
Ummm...
Let's not label ALL truckdrivers as pathetic sex maniacs. Truckdrivers are fathers, brothers, mothers, (oops?) sisters, all that... (rant coming) EVERYTHING comes to us by trucks somewhere along the LINE (?)...
Ship, plane, whatever, it winds up on a truck before you get your hands on it. Truckers are the same as everyone else, except maybe a little tougher. That depends on how many loads they have hauled weighing around 48.000 lbs down a 6% grade... without the Jake...for 20 miles or more... 1000 miles a week, 52 weeks a year, those miles add up quick. Take a lesson:
Here in Ohio all they biotch about is the speed limit. Trucks are still forced to run 55. Every state around it 70. Ohio suks for truckers on a schedule.
I don't think truckers give a darn. However, I can see how someone might think they do. I used to think that I got tailgated much more than with any other car until a forum member pointed out that we have no back seat and a very short trunk area. Naturally, everyone is closer.
