I have seen where they sell the front bumper marker lights that have the area between the lights painted black. I know they are only $55, but I wonder if I could do that myself? Can the lenses be separated from the light body, that surface painted, then the lens reattached?
I recently installed clear corner lights, and when I took the old ones off it looked like the whole light assembly was sealed. I dont think you can remove the lens to paint it. As much work as it is to take the lights off anyway I would just pay the $55 and put the new ones on. You can always sell if you dont like them.
Here is something you might want to try. I used window tint film and cut it to fit over the front marker lights. It is cheap and easy. Just make a template of paper first to get the right shape, cut and paste. If you don't like it just peel it off. Mine has been on about 4 years and no problems yet. It tones down the whiteness of that corner to better blend in with the dark car.

if you're talking about blackouts, I've tried spray tint, acrylic lenses and vinyl tint and wasn't satisfied with any of them. My current lenses were professionally tinted by corvette enhancements. The quality is second to none. I've been told that it looks like it's painted until the lights come on.
