I said I would feel like a poseur - I didn't say anyone else was. He asked for an opinion - and I gave mine without any malice or accusation. I didn't flame anybody - in fact I'm not flaming you either. It's still a free country, and the OP and you and everyone else for that matter can do whatever they want, as long as it doesn't harm someone else in the process or break a law.
As a forum - the idea is a free exchange of ideas and opinions, with malice towards none.
The majority of the public wouldn't recognize a C6 emblem on the C5, anyway. Only C5/Z06 owners/enthusiasts would (possibly) recognize the change. If that's of concern, don't dare do it!
It's your car to do with as you please.
A general question...if an owner decided to put an LS7/505hp 427 ci motor into his C5, would it be ok to add the 427 emblems to the hood?

Folks, relax... it's an emblem, for crying out loud
I put the C6 emblem on my car because when I debadged it back on 2004, there were 2 holes under the front emblem on the stock front fascia. The C6 emblem covered those holes - no big deal.
I have the Tigershark front fascia now with no badges at all. Even the "Corvette" on my rear fascia has been removed

But I do have a "Type R" badge on the back...
Don't you also have Type R floormats? If not you need some, Stephen!
Each generation has it's own designated emblems and to cross it over would be posing!
This one and the shirt and hat comments about posing kinda got me a little ruffled (maybe up a little to late after super bowl partying?)Posing accusations seem a little snooty and condescending to me.To me leave the look down your nose stuff to the Pebble Beach concours bunch. Lets have fun!!Liike the song from my generation"IT'S YOUR THING DO WHAT YOU WANNA DO"To quote Chip "PEACE"
There's nothing wrong with being a Corvette purist and nothing wrong with being the type that wants to modify everything to ones own tastes. Sometimes the two mindsets clash on the simplest of topics, though.
Maybe there should be separate forums for stock/original and modified?
This is the main reason why I don't ask for anyones opinion on anything, I just do whatever I want. OH and by the way I have a front C6 badge to, because I can
From: Alhambra Calismognazifornia, in the country everyone comes just to complain but won't go back home!
I'd say go for it. i really liked the clean look. never was a fan of the oakley "O" around the flags anyway
many people get way to uptight about silly things
I took my rear emblem off completely. its way too hard to clean around. I'd take off the front one too if it weren't for the holes in the bumper cover.
As its been said its your car, so what ever makes you happy. And it just an emblem. I wouldn't think twice about putting C6 brakes on my C5 or C6 seats in my C5, but I personally wouldn't think about putting another generations emblem on my car. I've also got a 78 C3 and I wouldn't think about putting the regular C3 emblem on the car. The C3 had a couple of different emblems, the regular C3 emblem and then the one on the 78, 25th anniversary. Kinda wierd I guess, It's got a spoiler that's not stock, a 400 sm block I've got C4 seats I'm going to put in it, so it's not like I haven't mixed different years and generations on the car. But I'd never put a regular C3 emblem on it. Just my $.02
