From your owners manual

Engine Oil Additives
Don’t add anything to your oil. The recommended oils
with the starburst symbol are all you will need for good
performance and engine protection.

Slick 50 is teflon based..............ever notice what happens to a teflon coated pan after it's heated and colled a few hundered times...
The only engine additive I've ever heard of that is wirth looking into would be ER (Energy Release) it has a guarantee to replace any engine up to $100k if it causes damage to your engine......but good luck on getting that prooven.
Truthfully no need to put any kind of additive in a motor that runs with synthetic oil.
But if you're determined to do something "better" than what it came with then you could consider Amsoil which would be pretty much the same as mobil 1 but if you added their "special by-pass filter" system with it..........it claims to completely stop engine wear.......and you never change oil......every 15k or maybe it's 25k you take a sample of your oil and send it in and they will tell you when to change the by-pass filter you then top it off again (about 2 qt's)........the claim is that synthetic oil never breaks down.
Not sure how factual all that is........my father runs Amsoil in everything he has..........changes filter every 7,500 and oil and filter at 15k he's never had any issues with doing this.
I ran Amsoil in my 2 cycle jetski and it performed great.....never smoked same with my dads outboards....never had any plug fouling either.
Good as it may or may not be, I'm still using Mobil 1

According to the service manual,Mobil 1 is the recommended oil to use. The engine was also designed to use Mobil 1. Also, its not recommended to add any oil additives to Mobil 1..

Slick 50 is GARBAGE

Mobil 1, Royal Purple, Amsoil, Penzoil Plat are the only oils u should use in an LSX engine.

What else would you expect a service manual to say?
My Yamaha service manual said to use nothing but Yamalube 2 cycle oil.....so what!

I dont put any addatives in my Vettes. I DO use one in my work truck though.....Lucas. I have 155k miles on the engine & it uses no oil & really looks pretty clean even after 5500 miles of use.

The Vette, no.

In my 93 Tahoe I put some slick 50 in at 36,000 miles.
I once forgot to change the oil for 25 k miles.
It now has 180,000 on it,some of the hardest trailer pulling, 4X4ing, sand duning abuse evar, and it still runs great.

I have however replaced the transmission 3 times, 2 water pumps, power steering pump, 4 radiators, rotors, drums, wheel cylinders and calipers, 3 alternators, ujoints, starter, AC comperssor, rear end gears and all bearings, and some little stuff.:o

Does it work on an old iron block? Who knows.
Lucky for me I was an ASE master tech, so I didnt have to spend anything but parts on the repairs or this truck would have cost me $100,000 by now.
