mobil 1 or........
Look at your oil cap and you'll see for yourself.
6.5 quarts of 5w30 Mobil 1 Full Synthetic, and the Mobil 1 filter, M1-107.
Follow your oil life monitor, i always change it when it comes down to 15%.
Hope this helps.
DO NOT take the car to an oil change shop ..... there are more horror stories of their doing stuff wrong .... couple of years ago in Los Angeles (I'm pretty sure it was Jiffy Lube) the county busted several franchises for billing for parts that didn't actually go on the car, and for work billed and not performed.
An oil change is pretty easy to do yourself. The biggest hassle here in Cali is disposing of the old oil. Call your local re-cycling center and see if they will take the old oil and filter (most will for free).
Once you know you can get rid of the oil, go to an auto parts store and get an oil filter (AC Delco PF46 or AC Delco UPF44) and a case of Mobil1 Synthetic (8 quarts ... can't hurt to have a little extra). SAE 10W-30 unless you'll be parking the car in freezing temperatures, in which case 5W-30 would be better. For your first time you'll also need to buy an oil catch can for the oil to drain into, and maybe an oil filter wrench if you don't have strong hands.
Perform oil/filter change ... dispose of filter and old oil.
If you don't do it yourself, insist that you watch the process, and insist that the oil is either Mobil1 Synthetic or that the oil container specifically says the oil meets GM Standard GM4718M. Do not let whoever does it do ANYTHING but change the oil and filter. Don't let them "check other fluids", or any of the otheer "services" that they offer. NOTHING ... NADA ... ONLY the oil and filter.
One other thing .... watch anyplace you take it too put it on and off the lift. Some lifts have very aggressive ramps to get the car on and off, you want to be sure your low nose doesn't contact the lift going on, or the pavement coming off.

the only people that touch my car is my uncle who is an extremely picky, clean, ASE certified and different-than-most-mechanics-out-there guy, he actually knows how to properly diagnose/maintain/repair a car with the best tools in the industry, no BS.
and the corvette tech at my local dealer, he's real good and handles my car with proper care...

BMW uses Castrol, BTW.

Anyway. Your best bet is to go to COSTCO and get some Mobil 1 there, because they sell it in cases and I've never seen a place that has cheaper oil. Your next best bet is Wal-Mart.
For the filter you are on your own because I live in the boonies and we don't have the same options for filters as other people do.
As for only using Mobil 1....that's the stupidest thing I've heard all day.
Head over to www.bobistheoilguy.com and check out their forums and you will learn that although Mobil 1 is good, there are plenty of other good oils out there that you might not have even thought of.

Family Chevy - the best thing they ever did for me was not call me back. Folsom Chevy is a much better dealership, and I work in FM.
I switched to AMS 10-30, not that there is anything wrong with Mobil 1. I clocked 240K miles on my SS Camaro LS1, and it still ran great when I sold it a year ago for my 03 Yellow Z.
