I have seen some threads showing the muffler by-pass on the Z06 Ti exhaust and just saw a video of the before and after affect. Seems like a great mod.
Has anyone tried this same mod on a stock (Non-Ti) exhaust? If so, how was the outcome? Would you suggest it to anyone else? It seems to me that this is a simple mod that would be much easier than the Z06 version.
I bypassed my Magnaflows when I modified them to fit the Tiger Shark rear fascia. As you can see in the photo below, I simply bridged between the intake and output pipes of the mufflers. The beauty of this system is that she is still pretty passive until the mufflers get pressurized, then the exhaust gasses take the path of least resistance and bypass the mufflers.
I put cut outs in just befor ethe mufflers with the quick time performance butterfly valves. It's either quiet, straight pipe, or anywhere in between. Great mod for the money I've even noticed a gain of 3 MPG when I run straight pipe for a few days.
I had the A&A mod on my stock system.
Yeah, it sounds louder than stock...but it's not a true 'tuned' exhaust note. It sounds more like you've got a hole in your exhaust system.
