What if you want to go to a non-runflat tire, and just don't want the sensors? Surely you can go racing without having to reprogram the car.

Why not use the tire sensors with non-run flat tires? I installed the tire sensors on my 2001 ZO6 as do a lot of ZO6 owners. If the tire pressure drops below ~25 psi, the DIC shows which tire is low & the warning chime alerts the driver. Then I can use the air compressor to air up the tire until I can patch or plug the tire.
