Ok, that is my point, they range from $300. to $3000. Is billy 182 on here to comment on this product?
Sounds like Corvette tax at its best, IMHO.
I'm with you my friend. Up to $3k for hinges is an F'n joke. I could see if the buyer was getting two entirely new doors with the kit, but that price for hinges is money not well spent.

The gray c5 (1st row, right side) is forum member Billy182. He would be able to tell you if that kit is junk or not. As for the LSD kits, I have seen Gary's (GBVette) a couple times and the hinges are solid and the door does not wobble. Z06-Jim has vertical doors, but i'm not sure what brand.
This picture of my car on ebay was taken without my permission, and I have reported this theft to ebay. I DO NOT ENDORSE IN ANY WAY THE ITEM THAT IS BEING SOLD THAT INCLUDES THE STOLEN PICTURE OF MY CAR.

Thanks for the post Billy, sorry to see that your sweet ride was used unauthorized
I did alot of research before purchasing mine. I had decided on GT Factory as they are built very well and go 90 degrees. I contacted LSD in Europe before they even made a set for the Corvette. I received an email from them when they went on the market. LSD are the safest, most tested hinges for sale. I changed my mind and purchased the LSD's. You can't go wrong with either of those two. The price is rediculous, but if you want the best you have to pay the market price. Good Luck and by the way I have heard nothing but terrible things about Vertical Doors, inc., especially their customer service.
I have the Vertical Doors, Inc. kit and was installed by a friend who owns a body shop.
He spent several hours tweaking and adjusting on them until they were perfect, (actually a couple days worth of adjusting/aligning)
As far as operating the doors, they swing open and closed normally just like the stock doors. The only time I raise them vertical is for show.
The one thing you have to be careful with is when closing them. They have a slight amount of play, (up and down movement), in them that could damage the jamb area of door if it hits the striker.
You just have to be sure and close them straight, without putting any downward force on them.
The LSD kit has supposedly taken care of the problem with the play in the doors and would have probably gone with them if they had been available at the time.
