This write up contains some very useful information that I encourage everyone to read not just the individuals who are just beginning to modify their cars. Stephen posted this write up to encourage folks to do their homework and find out exactly what they want before they start spending money. I cannot speak for all tuners out there but I know that it can be a big disappointment when you do a job for someone and once it is finished they become displeased for whatever reason. So please take the information above and use it to your benefit and don't be afraid to ask the questions you need answers to. Stephen....I have a Vararam, putting Corsa Pace Cars on in a couple weeks. Would my next step be headers then a cam or can I go a mild cam first. I want a rough idle.

A tighter LSA (108-112) will give you a choppier idle, but at the cost of a narrow powerband higher in the RPM range. A wider LSA (114-118) will give you a flatter torque curve and more midrange power but at the cost of a smoother, less choppy idle.
Increase the duration, and even a 114LSA chops like crazy. So you get the best of both worlds.
All of my cams are on a 114LSA and they all chop like a lumberjack
