I've had my vette a little over a year and the local club is having a cruise this weekend,50 vettes, not yet a member and would like to know what to expect .Don't really know any of the guys in the club, one guy I've met says I can come as a guest. I'd like to go, I'm thinking I polish to the max, put my girl in car and GO!

Can't even describe how cool your expereince is going to be,,,,,,so just enjoy! The longest line of vettes I have been a part of is 45! Take your camera and post pics. Here is a couple from a smaller cruise, which was my first!
I ve not gone on a cruise yet but somerset is right around the corner, and im gonna bust down the door and go a bunch.. I cant wait. ooooooooooooowweeeeeeeeeeeeeee
I was one of the Founder members of Sin City Vettes but only got to go on one cruise because I had to come back to England
We made a mini convoy in England last Summer. We managed to get together about 7 Vettes from Lincolnshire and had a ride down to the UK Corvette Nationals
One thing thats certain. you may not know anyone but you'll be drawn together by a common bond

It can be an incredible experience. Many of the cruises I've been on, the participants carry those small FM walkie-talkie's. They decide on a frequency and everyone tunes in to that. If you have a set - bring it. Also - you absolutely don't want to forget your camera, as the others have mentioned there will be a lot of Kodak moments!
You might want to bring drinking water and depending on the weather, sunscreen. Don't forget your favorite tunes.
Do a quick run through on the car, make sure the tires are inflated properly, check your fluid levels, top off the gas tank and go have fun!
Go for it. You'll have hard time wiping the smile from your face. Yes, get or take a walkie talkie. The most I've cruzed with was 35 and it was an incredible sight. People would stop and applaud along the road.
Just be yourself and remember you always have one thing in common to talk about! But my experience with Rose City Corvettes of Portland has been great and found that everyone was different and had something good to say.....they were very welcoming.
Here's some pics from a couple of runs.
Columbia River Gorge @ Bonneville Dam
Yamhill county. We were in the sticks cruising by a Corvette lovers house that had terminal cancer.
Evergreen Air Museum where the Spruce Goose is housed. The building is a new IMAX....not where the planes are.

When is Somerset? I'm going to be heading home to E-town for a few days this spring, and would love to make a vette stop.
Alright...I guess I'm going to have to be the bad guy here. Hit the afterburners and run as far away from that "First" cruise as if your life depended on it!!! Cruising is very addictive - it's been known to destroy long time marriages and local constables often tag along to see how much they can increase the city coffers with non-local revenue. As a long time veteran of many vette cruises you will be instantly recognized everywhere you go by that big bug-eatin grin on your face. :o There is also no known cure - except maybe death - for "Cruise-itis". Your pockebook will suffer untold refuelings, out of town lunches and overnight hotel stays. But there is no denying your going to look awfully cool doing it! If I haven't succeeded in talking you out of this - then good luck and God Speed - I've done my civic duty! Just be safe out there and enjoy the ride of your life....
