The previous posts that I remember said to put them in the car to keep it smelling good, not for a rodent deterant My beloved mother always believed in moth ***** for rodents, they're just hard to pick off of those poor moths.

Ya know...I'm a Florida native and I've been DIEING to move north (like N. GA or Carolinas) for a while but when I read things like this it makes me start re-thinking that move. I have NO idea what it is to winterize your car and from the sound of it I don't want to know either.
Best to you and your rodent problem but I tell you what....a small dish of antifreeze strategically placed will usually solve your problem. It smells sweet to them and they will def. CHECK OUT after a drink or two.
I'm with Dajael - no winterizing here in Calif! Of course, we have the high property prices you are all afraid of BUT, then again, the car was out this week AND the top was OFF! Yoo-HOO!
Sorry to hear about your Rodent problem.
I had the same problem some years back with my Pro Street Nova. 468 cube 14 to 1 motor.
The little buggers decided to nest in my 4" exhaust with 2 chamber flowmasters. When I came to start it I guess one of them wasn't paying attention when I spun it over then hit the ignition switch. Blew him and his nesting into the wall of the garage. Would have liked to see the look on it's face when it fired up Now I use the plug in deterents

Trap 'em n skin 'em and make a nice mouse rug.
I hate mices to pieces!
I have never heard this before. I ALWAYS use mothballs in and around the garage every year I store my car. From what I have read, this is a proven deterrent. To date I have not had an issue. I do use dryersheets inside the car. Sorry to hear about your issue. Good luck getting it taken care of.
