Hi, my name is Chinome and I'm new to the Forum. I have a question for the Forum and any and all help will be appreciated. I have a C5 Z06 and a friend of mine has a C6 Z06. He has changed out a few components on his Z, some of which he has offered to me at a really good price. My questions are, first, are the C6 Z06 heads and cam interchangeable with my C5 Z06 and if so what if any HP gains could I expect if I changed to this parts. My friend thinks there should be about a 40 HP gain, what's you thoughts on this.
I'm also going to full length headers along with Borla X-pipes and Catback exhaust. May consider a super charger a bit later.
Will they bolt up, sure, but they're not the optimal combo for the LS6 block. They have provisions for extra head bolts,(not too sure about this one, might be the C5R I'm thinking of?) and the combution chambers are designed to go with the 4.125" bore of the LS7. Your compression would probably be lowered, and that's not the best idea. Also they have rectangular intake ports, so you'd need to get a LS7-3-9??? intake manifold.

To make this absolutely clear to you, YOUR FRIENDS C6 Z06 HEADS WILL NOT bolt up to your LS6 block. You have a 3.900 inch bore. The C6 Z06 heads require a minimum of a 4.125 inch bore to clear the valves.
The cam will fit your engine, but there are much better cams than the LS7 emissions cam.
