Default What is the dash pad covered in, leather or vinyl?

I have a 2004 coupe and was wondering if the dash is covered in leather or vinyl. How bad are they to shrink and pull loose or crack? I just ordered a sun shade to go in the windsheild, and some 303 Aerospace Protectant from Auto Geek. Has anyone tried this product?

I like 303 PROTECTANT (in fact I buy it in one gallon containers from SUMMIT RACING), but I would not use it on the dashboard. It might be a little to much gloss reflection. Just use a damp cloth to knock down the dust.

I always use 303 protectant. When you first put it on it is somewhat glossy but after it sits for awhile wipe it down again and the gloss will be gone or greatly reduced.

The pad is vinyl

I stopped using Son of a Gun because the reflection was too bad. I just use a Dash Duster nowadays. If it needs more I use a damp cloth and buff it up with a micro towel.

Another ++ for the 303 here! Excellent stuff, and when I had my Miatas I would use it on the convertible tops and it would not run off in the rain and streak the sides of the cars. Not too glossy... excellent protection.

Which reminds me, I need another bottle.

Best thing I've found for saving your dash surface is a dash pad made of the same/similar material as your trunk floor pad/mat. They look good and totally keep the sun off the vinyl dash which is subject to damage from the direct sunlight!

Leather looking vinyl.

The material looks very similar but it is man made.
